Portugal is a NATO founding member and generally aligned with Western consensus. Montenegro's center-right government is pro-transatlantic. Portugal would condemn Iranian attacks but may use more moderate language than Eastern European or Nordic states, consistent with Southern European diplomatic tradition. Note: Rebelo de Sousa's term ends March 2026; a new president may be in office.
