SITREP — March 01, 2026
Sunday — Operation True Promise 4 — Day 2 — 6 waves recorded
Summary
On March 01, 2026, Iran launched a massive 6-wave barrage (Waves 4-9) over the course of approximately 21 hours, marking the most intensive single day of Operation True Promise 4. The sustained campaign targeted Israeli military-industrial complexes, air bases, naval installations, and the IDF command headquarters (HaKirya) in Tel Aviv, while simultaneously striking US/coalition bases, naval assets, and oil tankers across the Persian Gulf.
Three US/British oil tankers were reportedly struck and engulfed in fire in the Persian Gulf. The Ali Al-Salem naval base in Kuwait was shut down. A cluster munition warhead strike near Tel Aviv injured 12. The IRGC claimed 560 US military killed/wounded across waves 7-8 (unverified). A drone hit the airfield at RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus, with 5 others intercepted. This was the highest-tempo day of TP4 operations.
Coalition Actions
- Israeli multi-layered BMD systems (Arrow, David's Sling, Iron Dome) engaged waves of incoming missiles and drones across central and northern Israel.
- USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group conducted defensive operations against incoming anti-ship threats in the Indian Ocean/Persian Gulf.
- US/coalition forces defended bases across Kuwait, Bahrain, and the Indian Ocean against sustained drone and missile attacks.
- Saudi Arabia intercepted missiles targeting Prince Sultan Airbase and King Khalid International Airport.
- RAF Akrotiri Cyprus intercepted 5 of 6 incoming drones, though 1 struck the airfield causing minor damage.
- Cyprus Ministry of Defence denied reports of two missiles fired toward British bases on Cyprus.

- Wave 8 (17:30 UTC): Continued strikes on American and Israeli targets. IRGC claimed 560 US military killed/wounded (unverified).
- Wave 9 (21:30 UTC): Strikes on US naval assets and Israeli defense systems. Cluster munition warhead strike near Tel Aviv injured 12.
Waves & Munitions
Tactical Assessment
- Maximum tempo: Six waves over 21 hours represents an unprecedented operational tempo, sustaining continuous pressure on Israeli and coalition defences.
- Cruise missile introduction: Waves 5 and 7 included cruise missiles alongside ballistic missiles and drones, adding a third domain to the attack mix and complicating interception.
- Anti-shipping operations: Multiple oil tankers struck in the Persian Gulf/Indian Ocean, threatening global energy supply routes through the Strait of Hormuz.
- Cluster munitions: Use of cluster munition warheads near populated areas (Tel Aviv) designed for area-effect casualties represents an escalation in lethality.
- British base targeting: Drone strike on RAF Akrotiri extends the conflict beyond US/Israeli targets to include UK military installations.
Responses & Reactions
- Israel: IDF confirmed interception operations throughout the day. 12 injured near Tel Aviv from cluster munition warhead. Home Front Command maintained maximum alert nationwide.
- United States: CENTCOM confirmed sustained defensive operations. Ali Al-Salem base Kuwait shut down. Heavy damage to Bahrain naval facilities.
- United Kingdom: RAF Akrotiri sustained minor damage from drone strike. 5 of 6 incoming drones intercepted.
- Iran: IRGC issued sweeping claims including 560 US military casualties (unverified), 60 strategic targets hit, and 500 combined US/Israeli sites struck since TP4 began.
